Empowering Individuals Through Education and Community

Learn to self-manage your dystonia condition

The Dystonia Education Series offers a welcoming space for individuals living with Dystonia to learn, connect, and feel more confident in managing their condition. Each monthly session is led by experts and focuses on understanding both motor and non-motor symptoms, building practical skills, and navigating care with greater clarity. Optional pre- and post-session surveys help track progress and shape future discussions.

This program is offered in collaboration with Swedish Neuroscience Institute, Seattle. This a free of cost to the individuals registering for this program.

Expected Outcomes

Empowered understanding of Dystonia:
Gain a clearer understanding of both motor and non-motor symptoms, and the factors that influence symptom experiences, leading to increased confidence and autonomy in managing the condition.

Active self-management skills:
Encourage a shift from dependence on healthcare providers to a more active, informed role in personal wellness and care decision-making.

Improved engagement in daily life:
Support gradual increase in participation, reduce fear around movement or symptom triggers, and promote a greater sense of control and resilience.

Confidence in navigating care systems:
Build the knowledge and tools needed to communicate effectively with care teams and make informed choices throughout the care journey.
